It's not that deep. If the only resolution he can come up with is, "Destroying Konoha" after hearing the truth about Itachi, he's basically negating everything Itachi ever did making his sacrifices pointless. Itachi even wanted Sasuke to be the good guy in village's eyes by getting himself killed by Sasuke so that would restore the respect on Uchiha name again in Konoha. Sasuke is just one of the most braindead character in this series that's why people don't like him.
